May Day ….. May Day ….. The Bad Beat has been hit and has gone down!!

The sky is the limit when it comes to paying out large sums of money at Piggs Peak Poker.
Just one example of a humongous pay out is the Bad Beat Jackpot which was won on 10 August 2007 at 10:09am on a R1/R2 table – Namely May Day.

The Jackpot was brought down as follows:

Six eager Poker Players seated around the table waiting in anticipation for the next hand to start.
The cards are dealt and without hesitation Greeneyes as well as bumfluff fold.
vince1957 raises the Big Blind with R4.00 holding a pair of 10’s (10’s 10’h). vince1957’s preflop raises scares Adrenalin and ONLY Adrenalin into folding.

devildish holding (K’d 9’s) and Nikki_Rae (J’c 8’c) showing that they can’t be intimidated by the preflop raise, they call vince4957’s raise.
The Flop falls – 7’c 5’c 10’d, vince1957 holding 3 OF A KIND 10’s,
devildish folding his hand and Nikki_Rae one card away from a Flush.
vince1957 calls R4.00 and is immediately answered with a R4.00 call from Nikki_Rae. The turn hits the felt and a 10’c falls, leaving vince1957 with what he thinks is an unbeatable FOUR OF A KIND 10’s.

vince1957 increases the heat and pushes R11.50 to the center of the table, letting the guys know that he means business,
surprisingly Nikki_Rae calls the R11.50 thinking that what he was holding was good enough.
Both vince1957 and Nikki_Rae impatiently waiting for the dreaded river card. Little did both players know that the river card could mean a lot more than just winning of losing the hand. The River card is dealt - 9’c.

vince1957 raises with a mammoth R46.00 bet, but little does he know that Nikki_Rae is no longer holding a beaten flush,
but he now is in possession of the second highest hand in Texas Hold’em Poker, the “Potent” Straight Flush.
Nikki_Rae not backing down shows vince1957 that he is not threatened and goes All-in with R17.25.

Both Players are asked to flip their cards and show what they holding. vince1957 grins and flips his cards over - FOUR OF A KIND 10’s.
Nikki_Rae calls vince1957’s grin and raises it with a smile and he flips his cards over and displays the Straight Flush.
This at this point resulted in toppling the Bad Beat Jackpot.
